No, it would have made it difficult for me to have looked this
up, since I do not consume the documentation.

Yes, this is known to work, and is what I do.
I guess maybe ther is no Makefile because it is "The FreeBSD
Documentation Project" rather than "The FreeBSD Documentation
OnLine"... it's not done, quit complaining about the finish
being too rough when it hasn't been painted yet.

It was my understanding from the mailing list (that you should, I
will once again suggest, subscribe too if you are truly interested
in something other than a handle for your flamethrower) that this
had been changed. Apparently not in the public stuff, anyway, if
at all.
O'Reilly can't handle linuxedoc.dtd/
