I need a recommendation for an HDLC card that meets the
criteria spelled out below. Any recommendations for cards,
suppliers, or better places to look would be appreciated.

I am looking for a board to go in an IBM/PC with an ISA or VLB bus
that can generate HDLC frames. The card only needs to do the
appropriate bit stuffing and CRC generation.

This will be a output only device that does not support layer 2 (or
layer 1.5) of the ISO protocols. There will be no SABM, ACK, RR,
RNR, etc. I think this will probably rule out most smart cards.

Output data rates of 1.5M bits/sec to 2.0M bits/sec are required.

It would be extremely desireable to be able to write frames up to
8K bytes long, however shorter sizes are acceptable.

It would be more desireable to have a VLB card instead of an ISA card.

It would be more desireable to have DMA output from motherboard memory,
and less desireable to have double buffered frame buffers on the board
and probably worthless to do real time character I/O to the board.

It would be most desireable to have RS449 output, including a DB37
connector that supports RS422 (balanced) specification.

I expect to have to write a driver for it, so I will need access to
 the appropriate programming manuals.

Any recommendations or leads would be appreciated.
It would be most helpful if I could get this information last week!

 TIA
 Larry
