Hi. There was a thread for a while about one particular set
of install problems, relating to a lack of boot manager.
After lots of beeting the system (2.0.5R) over its ears,
fdisk'ing and disklabel'ing, I finally got it working.
With lots of help from Julian@TFS.Com (thanx :-)

Various other people who have had this problem asked for
a summary of the solution, so here it is.

The FAQ mentions the dangers of giving the install program
anything other that the geometry it recommends. This is
understated. Trust the install program, the install program
is your friend. For those people still having problems, this
is what I suggest as the simplest and fastest solution.

Back up your "/etc" directory, and anything on "/usr/local"
(plus any other config directories, like for news, ...).
If you can copy (tar is fine) them to another physical disk,
that makes your life simple.

Redo the install program, using the fake geometry that it gives
(I know the hardware manuals say use the real geometry, this works
for DOS.) For scsi, [heads|tracks 64, sectors 32, cyl = #MB]
reinstall the bindist (again, if you can have the files on
another physical disk, so much the better). Replace etc
and usr/local

Believe me, it is much simpler than fighting to figure out the
exact correct numbers after the fact.
