I will note that I have a P90 motherboard with an SiS chipset that
works just fine with NetBSD1.0 and an NCR53C810 SCSI. So, although
I wouldn't be a bit surprised that old 486 Sis motherboard chipsets
have problems, their current Pentium one seems fine (at least for only
one bus mastering dma device:-).
