The problem is, what if the administrator wants to move the global mime.types and mailcap files? Then what? All the users have to change their prefrences to the new location. Netscapes needs a global _prefrence_ setup so the users only have to worry about the user-specific things, and the administrator can easily change global things, like the global mime and mailcap files, and default caches, etc. This would also help new users so they don't have to figure out how to set that stuff up the first time they try the program. Maybe the problem is that nobody, including netscape, is understanding the issue... Rich... rmb@hercules.att.com
