I'm trying desperately to get X386 to work on my system. I have a 386-40 w/ 80mb partition for UNIX on a IDE MAxtor.. My video is 1MB Diamond Speedstar Plus... I got all the /usr/bin and /usr/lib etc... installed, and after I finally figured out the /dev/vga problem, I tried running X386.. well, it SORTA worked, and KINDA locked up, but after that, any time I try to run X or X386 or startx or xinit, I get BIG PROBLEMS... It gives the X386 startup message, and then hangs... The only hint I get is that it leaves a "core.X386" file as a residue of sorts.. Anyone have any clues what I am doing wrong? I'm lost... I wanna go back home to msdosland... :( ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ kinetix@unomaha.edu I haven't had wigodsky@unomaha.edu time to make my signature yet... (my actual emails are kinetix@thor.unomaha and wigodsky@cwis.unomaha, but some nameservers dont recognize them... PLEASE email me if you can help...) ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
