I remember that I kept on losing the label because it was writing it to a place that the kernel did not look by default. As far as offsetting your partitions, that's done in the NetBSD disklabel. "disktab" file, I believe. The 'd' partition should be the entire disk, the 'c' should be the section that NetBSD will use (ID 165). I would be more specific on this point, but I've forgotten exactly what your symptoms are. ;-) first step, though, is to get the latest beta of OS-BS. It may be hard to find.
