I know have my ST1239A drive working with BSD - a great it is too ! The problem turned out to be the IDE controller. I had one of these integrated IDE controllers, with 2 serial and 2 parallel ports on it as well. I have now changed this for a really old IDE controller and equally old serial/parallel board and the system is fine. Great, now I have UNIX at home - now to compile X386, set up the printer, write a device driver for my scanner, write the application to read the scanner, and ....... Oh well, At least its a start. Thanks again to all those people who took the time to reply ..
