I've got a question which has been bugging me a bit. I've setup my FreeBSD box to answer to 3 IP addresses using alias: ie: ifconfig ed0 alias a.b.c.d This is all cool and seems to work fine, cuz people can telnet to a.b.c.d with out any problems. However if I sit by the FreeBSD box myself I can't do anything with those addresses. I can't ping a.b.c.d or telnet there or access the www server on that address...like nothing. But every other person in the world has no troubles accessing it. Anyhow like I said its not a problem, but just something I'm wondering bout. If anyone can explain this weird phenonmenum that would be too cool...thanx a bunch Thomas Schroecker thomas@server.bruce.net schroect@sos.wingham.com
