There is some ALPHA support that's just gone in - send mail to
hackers@freebsd.org if you want to be a tester.

It does, and rather well in fact.

That's a difficult question to answer since I don't know how good all
the commercial utilities are! :-)  However, I can say that we use the
the firewall code in FreeBSD ourselves and it appears to do a fine job
of it.
