Date: 17 Jul 1995 11:22:43 GMT Organization: University of Rhode Island / The Vampyre Project Lines: 16 Message-ID: <3udh63$lil@bubbla.uri.edu> NNTP-Posting-Host: 131.128.2.121 Is there a way to migrate a FreeBSD 1.1.5.1 master.passwd file to a 2.0.5-950622-SNAP release password file? We have a database of over 300 users for dialup authentication residing in that file and I really would like to move the thing over to a newer release of FreeBSD (aka the SNAP one) without resorting to recreating all the users, and giving them all temp passwords and then forcing them to login to the machine and change them. Anyone have any neat ideas? It does not appear that just copying over the password files and .db files does it. -- -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Brad Jasperson Originator of the URI impaler@vampyre.acc.uri.edu Vampyre Project. eoo103@uriacc.uri.edu
