Assuming you are getting your 64K from Telecom Eireann, you don't need any
sort of modem.  Telecom will provide what they call an NTU (and what other
people call a CSU/DSU or modem) as part of the service.  [I don't think you
have a choice here, even if you wanted your own NTU.]  All you need to
decide is whether the modem should have a X.21 or V.35 serial connector.

What you need for your PC is some sort of supported synchronous serial card.
From a quick look on one of my 2.0.5 systems, it would appear that FreeBSD
supports at least the following cards:
	Cronyx/Sigma multiport sync/async (with Cisco or PPP framing)
	Cyclades Cyclom-y high-speed serial driver (ALPHA QUALITY!)

I'm sure other people in this group might be able to tell you more about
the FreeBSD side.
