Well, some folks want long sigs, some folks want to run their
MS-Windows programs, some folks also want to run their first steps
in Turbo Pascal and some want to run native Linux applications.

The latter is probably due to a number of ports to Linux, ranging
from WordPerfect over Mathematica and OI to Doom, where the
companies in question don't (want to) put out a port to FreeBSD or
BSDI for whatever reason.
