In /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/doc/README.FreeBSD they write: The XFree86 servers include support for the MIT-SHM extension. The GENERIC kernel does not support this, so if you want to make use of this, you will need a kernel configured with SYSV shared memory support. To do this, add the following line to your kernel config file: options SYSVSHM # System V shared memory options SYSVSEM # System V semaphores options SYSVMSG # System V message queues You then have to recompile and install the kernel, read the FAQ on how to do that. (I've never heard of an X server that NEEDS those extensions though, better check XF86Config first, eh?) -- Martin Butkus >>> Live long and prosper. <<< Phone/Fax: +49.5331.298710 Am Stadtwege 10, 38304 Wolfenbuettel, Germany
