Forget it - I started writing a driver for one (the basis being that the User Group has loads of 501s, but not many of the better ones!). Unfortunately, the 501 is deaf when talking and dumb when listening; it only has one buffer that it shares between TX and RX. This really does make it rather unsuitable for an ethernet card!
