Under FreeBSD 2.0.5 the ftp transfer starts (with the server being on the HPUX machine) and then slows down until it looks like being halted (but succeeds after a looong time eventually). In case i initiate the ftp transfer from the HP-UX machine (the ftp server runs on the FreeBSD 2.0.5 machine), i get the normal full ftp speed. Until now i tried to disable the "new" tcp-extensions (RFC1323 and RFC1644) in FreeBSD 2.0.5 via sysctl, but that has not changed anything. Telnet in both directions run as usual. Has anyone an idea ? hellmuth -- Hellmuth Michaelis GFKT HCS Computertechnik GmbH Hamburg, Europe "There are lies, damn lies, and open systems." (unknown)
