I must say that you are ambitious.

Be that as it may, do you have some reason to learn C/C++ other
than an academic interest in computer languages? If you don't
I would recommend that you consider using something like
scheme or prolog to cut your teeth on. Scheme implementations
appear to work particularly well on BSDI.

Enjoy.

: I am a computer hobbyist and not a computer professional,

: a lot of systems.

: I got on the internet about three years ago with a dialup
: shell account and a macintosh running zterm. This was my first
: exposure to Unix (SunOs).

: I switched to ppp and dialup ip about 1 1/2 yrs ago.

: In this time I have read the K&R book on C programming and I
: am about halfway through a text on C++.

: I am also reading a guide to the C shell.

: I purchased BSDI and a Compaq Deskpro LX P90 w/1gig SCSI in
: December.

: About a month ago, I talked the company I work for

: My current projects are:

: Get a very simple web page for J.Crew up and running (point

: see how simple I mean!.)

: Get dialup ppp working (I can do dialout ppp, but I don't

: Figure out something that I would really like to code in C or
: C++

: Get an intuitive feel for Unix, like the intuitive feel I have

: WELL, just wanted to say hello before I make my presence felt!
: AND if anyone of you live in the greater NY area, I would like
