My IDE controller claims to support two disks (there is even a jumper to remove to tell it there are two disks). I have specs on the Maxtor so I know how to jumper it to act as slave, but I don't have any info on the Conner disk. However, there are only three jumpers on it, with one jumper connector and I have tried all three positions, but in all positions but the factory installed one no HD is found, while in that position the second disk isn't found... Doesn't the Conner disk support a master-slave configuration? Do I have to do some magic with the cabling?? If you don't know the answer to that one, try this: I actually have two IDE controllers and using the patches to wd by Tom Ivar Helbekkmo (tih@barsoom.nhh.no) I should be able to run one drive from each controller if I could only change the interrupt for one card (yes, and move the address space for the regs, but I can do that), but, you guessed it, neither card supports changing the interrupt. Now, if I only new the layout of the ISA bus (specifically, where is the IRQ 14 and say IRQ 15 line), I could hardwire the second card to use another interrupt. Could anyone please send me the layout? Which interrupt should I use (IRQ 15 as tih?)?? As this question may not be of general interest, I guess e-mail answers would be best. -- Thanks, Goran ------------------------------+--------------------------------- Goran Hammarback | goran@astro.uu.se Astronomiska Observatoriet | Uppsala Universitet | S-751 20 SWEDEN | ------------------------------+---------------------------------
