First, your kernel needs to have the modem device configured.  See the entries in
the kernel config files dealing with "com".  Next, fire up kermit, and go.  In
kermit, tell it which com port to use with "set line /dev/tty0?" where the ? is
the com port number (they start with 0).  Get the FAQ from ftp.netbsd.org or a
mirror.
