It also has lotsa glare if you don't buy their $120 anti-glare cover. I don't think 1280x1024 is a consideration for the 17" lot...even if your monitor can handle the frequency requirements, it's just not enough space to be practical...1152x900 is more like it and you should be happy with this (or you need to buy a bigger monitor). Anyway, here are the specs on the Nanao F550i: Tube: Mitsubishi (the T560i is the Trinitron tube but it's pricey) Max. horiz. scan freq.: 65Kzh Max. vert. scan freq.: 80Hz Max. video bandwidth: 80MHz (will easily handle 1152x900) Connectors: 9-pin D-SUB / 5-BNC Screen Diagonal: 15.8" Comments: Complies with Swedish standard requirement against low freq.,(MPR-II) Full digital control that includes positioning, barrel and pin- cushioning *and* color adjustment. Settings can be saved to the on-board microprocessor. Adjusting this monitor is so easy...it's got the best ergonomic monitor design I've ever seen. It is FCC-A approved...I live in an apartment with no cable and the neighbors haven't been complaining, my TV works (I don't have cable) and I listen to the radio without distortion all of the time. I don't believe you can get a more full-featured 17" monitor below $1100 US than this one. Steve Hite shite@sinkhole.unf.edu
