Message-ID: <andrewgDC3DxI.7uC@netcom.com> Followup-To: comp.unix.bsd.freebsd.misc, poster Summary: Use apsfilter! It was still called apsfilter in the ls-lR file but the tgz file I picked up was only a day or two old. It installed easily, and it works like a champ. What it is is a package of lpr filters that can print _anything_ including gzipped files! It does need help from ghostscript for text to ps conversions so it seems that you should install gs _first_ and it will also print .dvi files if you install TeX first. I haven't had a problem with my lpt since (sounds like an infomercial, doesn't it? but I'm not a compensated celebrity). I believe that the basic problem was the old CR vs. CR/LF conundrum, which was more than solved by apsfilter. My hat is off to Andreas Klemm (author of apsfilter) and Jordan for his quick and useful response. I couldn't find anything about this in the FAQs so either a) I'm really dense or b) this info should be included in the FAQs. Thank you for your support. As usual, YMMV. Andrew
