With pccons (the standard NetBSD console driver) console messages get lost while running X. The XFree86 server is generally quite verbose when it exists but to see those messages you need to redirect its output to a file eg: startx >& Xerrors Then have a look to Xerrors it has great chances to be self-explanatory. -- Matthieu Herrb CNRS - LAAS | War, Matthieu.Herrb@laas.fr 7, avenue du Colonel Roche | What is it good for ? 31077 Toulouse Cedex - France | Absolutly Nothing !
