It apparently isn't for you -- my guess is an unexpected hardware feature
of some sort, or possibly something strange with the 3c509 driver.  Maybe
we can help -- it is easier to do this on the mailing lists though.  When
your process hangs, what does the ps command tell you.  What is the state
of each process in the system?  If that hangs, then drop into the debugger
and do a ps there.  The best way to continue this is private email or
or the mailing list 'freebsd-bugs' (I am not sure about policy, but that
appears to be a good place to start.)  My email is dyson@root.com -- don't
use the return address on news -- it might not work.
