After compiling perl5.001, I edited the paths.pl file to point to the correct paths, and ran reconfig several times before finally finding out that the first line of the reconfig file had to be deleted to get rid of the "need" error message. Because the rusers, ypwhich, and ypcat files do not exist on my system, reconfig gave error messages stating that they could not be found. Make then crashed at the following lines: open.limit.c:15 warning 'RLIMIT_NOFILE' redefined .....snip..... open.limit.c:23 'RLIMIT_NOFILE' undeclared....... stop *** error code 1. Questions: i) Are the presence of rusers, ypwhich, and ypcat necessary for SATAN to compile? ii) If they are not, can anyone give me some hints on editing the the Makefile and other config files? ____________________________________________________ Paul P.
