If that remote printer does support the telnet protocol and
just accepts printer data at that port it might be feasible :)

But depending on your telnet you will see that some data
is changed as telnet is not a transparent protocol. For the
communication with a HPLJ4 I wrote a tiny program that just
dumps stdin to a remote socket and also deals with a busy
port.
