My FreeBSD version is a SNAP from end of february. uname -v reports FreeBSD 2.1.0-Development. My Problem: I would like to format a floppy disk in my first floppy drive which is a 1.44 MB drive. when i enter 'fdformat -f 1440 fd0' the process starts up, but i got this messages: 'biodone: Buffer already done' The message is repeated many timen while 'formating' the disk. After that i'm trying to do a disklabel: disklabel -r -w fd0 fd1440 and the kernel complains: thor /kernel: writedisklabel: MSP with no BSD part At last i build a filesystem on the disk: newfs fd0.1440 This is what i find in /var/log/messages: Jul 30 16:15:36 thor /kernel: biodone: buffer already done Jul 30 16:16:07 thor last message repeated 44 times Jul 30 16:17:28 thor last message repeated 115 times Jul 30 16:18:02 thor /kernel: disk doesn't have an MBR Jul 30 16:18:13 thor /kernel: disk doesn't have an MBR Jul 30 16:18:13 thor /kernel: writedisklabel: MSP with no BSD part But i can mount and use the floppy for storing data on it. What i'm doing wrong ??
