I have been trying to apply some patches to the source distribution of 386bsd
and all I get are error messages. The patch is the Makefile.i386 from agate
(so the recompile of the kernel will work) and I have been applying it with
the command patch < make.patch (make.patch is the name I gave the patch when
I downloaded it to my DOS machine). I get error messages about how this is
not a standard diff and it doesn't have extra *'s (or something like that)
I have tried applying the patch with and without the header information (the
e-mail message and header above the patch) and nothing works. I looked for
a manual entry for patch and found nothing. Help would be greatly appreciated.
