Neither Bill nor I believe that this dispute should have any affect on the formation of a 386BSD newsgroup nor should it preclude research in the area. (However, a comp.os.386bsd newsgroup would make certain "AT&T wanna-bes with BSD" most unhappy, as it's pretty hard to get people to pony-up dollars when 386BSD is available and it's users active and supportive.)
