hello - i've a question - does the "-type:=direct" option of the amd
automounter work with NetBSD ? - because it did'nt work under FreeBSD and i
would like to know if the same problem is valid for NetBSD - if yes we may
try to fix it together (or was there a problem which is now fixed - then
please send me the solution)
ok - here is what i mean with the broken option - can please someone try the
following on a NetBSD machine and tell me if it is working or not:
* export for instance /usr/share to localhost in /etc/exports (system should
be configured as nfs-server and client - i.e. mountd, nfsd and nfsiod should
run)
* try if you can mount it via nfs to yourself
* create the amd-map (amd.test) which contain the following line:
test type:=nfs;rfs:=/usr/share;rhost:=localhost
* now do the following as root:
amd -x all -l /dev/stderr /test amd.test -type:=direct
* this (-x all -l /dev/stderr - give all errors to /dev/stderr) should mount
/usr/share to /a/localhost/usr/share if you access /test/something and /test
should then be a symbolic link to /a/localhost/usr/share
* do an "ls -l /test/." - if you see now the contents of /usr/share then
everything is ok with NetBSD - but if you get "Stale NFS filehandle" then
NetBSD has the same problem as FreeBSD
* many thanks in advance - please let me know about your results
