Hi!

Is it normal or what is the reason why I was denied to login as root after
I had compiled a new kernel with (among others) options "COMPAT_43" disabled?
The message given was "LOGIN root REFUSED ON TTY tty??" similar to when I try
to login as root over a remote connection. Another thing to note was that
the login name was reprinted in the next line between entering the login name
and the password, which normally doesn't happen.
Logging in as a normal user was possible without any problems.
I traced this down to the abovementioned option without doubt.
Comments anybody?
