With the 512 KB you >should reach the other 64MB ???!!! No, as I understand it, the Triton chipset cannot cache anything beyond 64 megabytes of RAM. I don't believe it has to do with the amount of cache installed (256K, 512K or 1 meg). What someone needs to come up with is a Pentium/P6 board that can take at least a 150-MHz CPU, accomodate up to 4 megabytes of L2, 8 memory slots (SIMM, DIMM, EDO, holocube, whatever) for at least 512 megs of RAM, a chipset that can cache all of that, and 6 PCI slots (and maybe one ISA slot). Then I could jam in 3 PCI disk controllers, 2 100-Mbps NIC's, a Mach64 or #9 PCI graphics card, and a sound card in the ISA slot. Oh, twin 16550 serial ports and a parallel port should already be on the motherboard. :) Could anyone with such a product please contact me at taob@io.org. :) -- Brian ("Though this be madness, yet there is method in't") Tao taob@gate.sinica.edu.tw <-- work ........ play --> taob@io.org
