Thanks Jeff

unfortunately (or not? :-) there are many reasons why we need to avoid
the UUCP path. One of them is due to a need to grow in the short term,
to allow more services. I have quite a bit of experience with UUCP
(using Waffle as a gateway), and although it has worked well I am looking
at bigger and brighter things (not to mention learning about new
things!).

Yep, it seems that most people are in agreement here. I am just starting
to appreciate how little I know about networking UNIX! Can anyone
recommend some practicle texts? (No programming please! :-)
