As I see it, all three OS are *works in progress* and whatever is true now doesn't indicate that it will be true in the future. My original reason for picking Linux was that this OS was suggested to me by a customer. My current reason for backing Linux is that it seems to me that the Linux community is more agressive in pointing out the failings of the closed OS vendors -- which is important to me. I haven't really explored the other free OS, and intend to wait a few years before doing so. I'll guess that which OS to choose will depend upon what you are using it for.
