So when will we see 1.1_BETA? I think one release per year is a good
minimum to aim for (a year is a long time in computers, you might say),
and I expect most of the ports have now seen significant progress since
1.0. Supposing a 1.1 release a year after 1.0, I guess the beta process
should have started by now.
