Organization: SeeWare Software Message-ID: <DDIBu9.9J0@seeware.DIALix.oz.au> Date: Fri, 18 Aug 1995 12:54:09 GMT Lines: 35 Hi! I am running FreeBSD 2.0.5 and using xdm to start an X session. The problem I have is running out of processes and not being able to fork a new process. As examples of this behaviour from an xterm:- putte:~> ps x No more processes. Or when trying to format pages in xman I get the following error in the console:- Cannot fork tbl: can't open `/tmp/xman012092': No such file or directory And when writing this news article the first time everything fell in a heap and dissapeared... I am confused as to how I can set this limit to some higher value and where the limit is being set. I have a kernel with max 180 processes (default configuration) and the system is running around 64 processes. Is there anyone who can help me??
