Message-ID: <BuFuy5.JMs@rice.edu> Sender: news@rice.edu (News) Organization: Rice University Date: Sat, 12 Sep 1992 00:06:04 GMT Lines: 18 hello, I will very soon be in the market for a machine on which to run 386bsd. I intend to get an EISA machine because I know that EISA drivers will be written sooner or later :-) But what I want to know is this: Is there any reason to not get a local bus machine? I intend to only run unix (well, maybe OS/2 too :-). I really want to run XFree86 -- that is my main application. So, are there any local bus video/SCSI controller drivers out there? Are any being worked on? Or is local bus inherently incompatible with unix? thank you for you time, Dwayne Fontenot
