Well, I didn't know much about Unix when I started, and I chose NetBSD. Just finished installing it last night, as a matter of fact! I have a lot of bitching about the install text file and a few things like that, but otherwise, it took me 3 hrs, including ftping all the binaries... (Although I'm curious >about what will make the Unix-newbie's race: FreeBSD or Linux...) *gack!* Part of the reason I chose NetBSD to try and install was because of what *was* my machine at work, and the bloody linux box that I'm using now!
