You need to find out the exact maker and model number of the drive in the box. Reveal sell several models and they incompatible with one another. If the drive is a Matsushita CR-562 or CR-563, then the latest matcd driver will support them. (These are both double speed drives.) 2.0.5R will support these drives only if connected to GENUINE Creative Labs sound or driver interface cards. The latest code (in -current and probably the latest SNAP) supports a lot more host interfaces. If the drive is an IDE (any of the three vendors Reveal uses), then there is not support, although there is some Alpha activity going on. Unfortunately, *most* of the non-SCSI 4X drives are IDE. You may not be able to determine the drive type from the picture on the box (remember Radio Shacks famous words: "Style may vary from photo"). Ask the salescritter to open a box and let you look at the drive boilerplate.
