[0]Can you use the Teac CDU55A 4x CD-ROM under FreeBSD? It's a
[0]Panasonic-interface drive, but the matcd0 controller does not work.
[0]Is this a case of using a SB AWE 32 sound card as the controller?
[0]Any thoughts on this?

This drive is interface-compatible with the Matsushita drive (ie pin 1 does
the same thing on the connectors on both drives and so on), but the
Panasonic and TEAC drives have completely different command sets.

A driver specifically for the TEAC drives is under development for
FreeBSD. Watch the FreeBSD mailing lists for updates.
