(With Linux you have to uninstall >packages by yourself) Slackware (the Linux distribution that I am using) has a tool called "pkgtool" which allows you to add and remove packages from the distribution. It automatically figures out dependencies between packages, and only removes the files that don't have other dependencies. In addition, Linux can be installed off of floppies, a premounted directory, via NFS, or off of CD-ROM. Just trying to prevent a misunderstanding about Linux among FreeBSD users.
