Ok, thanks, this problem is fixed.

But the problems with olvwm / cmdtool doesn't vanish ...

cp the default systm.xinitrc file to your home dir as .xinitrc,
remove all clients at the end of the file and
add as last line

	olvwm

a) 1st problem is a missing $OPENWINHOME/lib/openwin-menu-programs.
   After creating a $HOME/.openwin-menu-programs
   I can open a cmdtool.

b) If I type in some characters into cmdtool, then
   cmdtool crashes ...

BTW: I'd suggest to enhance the Open Look Package.
It would be fine, if you could provide sane defaults
     for menues, as Slackware does...

It would be a great service. Look at that, what the Linux
people provide with their Open Windows package ...

The most interesting tools from /usr/bin/X11 are included
in olvwm's pulldown menues ....
