Unfortunately, in FreeBSD-stable (which is version 2.1) wizard mode is entered using the `|' character rather than the `w' character. Since it's `wizard mode' I guess you are expected to discover this as I did, by looking at the code. Sysinstall's wizard mode looks like the right thing to use for adding new disks.
