Pk., MD 20742 Lines: 32 Message-ID: <424qpe$mgk@zagnut.cs.umd.edu> References: <424dh4$eed@mandolin.qnet.com> NNTP-Posting-Host: zagnut.cs.umd.edu I have the following system configuration: US Logic 486DX/33 motherboard, 8 Mbytes RAM Maxtor 540 Mbyte IDE hard disk generic IDE, 2 Serial/parallel, floppy controller CL 54x svga card Hayes 14.4 internal modem buslogic 545c scsi controller NEC 4x cdrom drive and an ancient 50 Mbyte Hardcard! This thing has caused trouble in the past, but this one might just the reason I finally dump it. When I try to do the FreeBSD 2.0.5 install, I boot from DOS fine and the kernel appears to be probing hardware. It identifies everything fine, the Maxtor drive is wd0 and it sees the hardcard as wd1. The irqs and dma channels are separate. Once the hardware probing is complete, the installation HANGS! When I remove the hardcard, everything works just fine, I can complete the installation, hmmnn... Thoughts, comments, questions? FM -- Frank W.
