It works fine under DOS. I have on COM2. In NetBSD if I do 'cu -l tty01 -s 19200' then the modem light comes on...so far so good. Any typing apart from '~' commands generate a read/write error (this is as root). If I do 'cu -l tty01 -s 19200 <phone number>' or 'cu -n -l tty01 -s 19200' or some variations, I get a bad port error. How are you meant to use 'cu'? Can it really dial modem numbers? How does it know how to configure the modem? Is the tip command better? My modem is a Supra 288; from the manual pages I am unsure as to whether it is supported by tip. Grateful for any help...I really do want to use unix rather than dos.... Tony
