Ah. I was under the impression that not having a DNS (A) entry would
mean I couldn't do anything with the address NetBSD.ORG, like send mail
to it, but I realize that is wrong (c.f. MX).

At least 24 hours or so. I believe I tried two successive evenings,
trying to find out some info about the people who maintain the ports.
Also, it seemed like a strange place for the server. I wasn't sure
if the address was right.

I'm not expecting anything, I was just asking a question. However,
the problems noted above started to make me extremely nervous; I am
doing a research project which involves modifying NetBSD, and I'm on
a tight time schedule (read: I was supposed to graduate several weeks
ago). I've been turning down offers on jobs b/c I can't commit to when
I'll be done with the project. I'm not asking for sympathy; I imagine
everyone knows how it feels when something beyond your control starts
to delay (or degrade the value of) your work... it's a bit like
that falling sensation you get just before a loop of rope stops your
gravitationally-assisted descent :) :)

(Oh by the way, did I mention I'm a graduating B.S.-Comp Sci and I'm
looking for a job? <plug> <plug> <grin>)
