Besides the f2c translator, Craig Burley is working on a Fortran front end
for the GNU compiler.  It is currently in alpha test and may be released
sometime in the next, oh couple of months perhaps.

I'm not sure what the restrictions are on f2c, I expect that GNU Fortran will
carry the standard GNU CopyLeft
