Just re-reading this.  Nope, your assumption that the packages are
WC's idea or have been affected by the _CD_ customers is entirely
wrong.  They've been caused by the demand of our users.  And you've
left out important parts in your quotation:

The previous question has been how to get the software to those
without sufficient internet access.  It's rather irrelevant what the
actual transport medium is: CD, tape, even floppies (for masochists).
Anyway, people (including me, even though i know how the masochist way
would go) love it if the procedure to get the binary of the famous
foozoolix software up&running is _simple_.  And rather few have that
high-speed Internet access that's required to get every piece of
source code right off the net.  Particularly, if your horizon doesn't
end in New York or San Francisco.
