Yes. I've a set of xdm scripts (Xsession et.al.)
that first execs a "login shell" for the user and 
then loads the window manager and other stuff.

This makes it easy to have your complete environment
available to programs startet from a window manager
menu.

Don't know where to put it, though. Doesn't belong
into "ports", IMHO, but I don't know of any better 
place to put it ...
