Also like NetBSD (?) linux is also OSF/1 binary compatible, including OSF/1 shared libraries etc. There will probably be a 32-bit development environment ("gcc -taso" plus a special library) eventually available for linux to handle those broken programs that assume an int can fit a pointer etc, but right now a 32-bit environment isn't even available.
