I have seen this problem on a number of occasions. It seems to go away when the internal and external caches are turned _OFF_ via the bios. This behaviour happens with my PC at work on both Linux and FreeBSD, also another guy here runs a number of Linux boxes and has the problem on them. I suppose it must be down to slightly crappy motherboards. Anyone got any thoughts as to why this happens? -- ______________________________________________________________________________ Raggy | God smiles upon the little children, the alcoholics, and dmlb@ohm.york.ac.uk | the permanently stoned.
